Desire

In one's life experience one encounters a great many urges or desires within your depths. It is through
diligent application of your person to such desires that they then may bear fruit. One must decide for oneself which of the many desires or tendencies you really feel strongly about and would like to see made real. Then with this sincere, diligent application of your energies, these desires may be made into reality. It is within your power, each of you, to create this reality, in a sense to create out of yourselves and give birth to a new phenomenon. This occurs with sincere, honest, and recurring application.

There are many desires within each of you leading in many different directions. You must choose which among these you desire the most to be made real. Then you bring this ideal, this desire, raise it up in your consciousness, accept it fully into your being, and project yourself as being an accomplice in this desire, as being partners with this desire. Direct your energies towards it, and visualize this desire as reality.

You each have this capacity to turn a desire, an ideal, a position into your reality. Very little that you would desire is out of your reach. Most of what you desire is yours for the taking, yours for the effort, yours for the applying of yourself to it. So choose your highest ideals, embrace them, accept them into your being, and promote them with your conscious mind. Ask for assistance from our Father and embrace the fruits of your
efforts.

It is the Father's desire that you be a creator as well, that you form your own creations of direction, of ideals, of purpose, that you give rise to these fundamental basics spontaneously of yourself. You are empowered to create these realities, and you are encouraged to do so.

It is necessary from time to time to realign yourself with the proper energy guides that you spoke of in your discussion to establish your position in the proper channels for the most efficient transfer of energy. This is accomplished by means of your sincere desire to implement this new ideal and your willingness to align yourself to the proper degree to allow the most efficient transfer of the energy. You all are becoming aware of the many different sources of energy, power, available to mortals of the realm. These channels are a means to tap into, to augment your capabilities, to enhance your abilities to efficiently perform and function. We encourage you to experiment with their use, to apply yourselves in different regions, to be open to help from these outside sources. You alone can do great things; you with the aid of other circuits can do things beyond what you can conceive of.

The desire has to unfold, the conscious effort be made into action, be it anything to do throughout your
day that, if you do it with the conscious effort to do the righteous thing with all of your actions, you will be fulfilled at the end of each day. When you go through your day with the desire to do the righteous thing and it seems to be something that is in the future, you are taking away from the conscious effort that you could be making throughout the day. If you are doing the most mundane thing like putting away the dishes, if you make the conscious effort to do the righteous thing, you will find that your mind becomes much more focussed on the day to day, mundane events that can turn into spiritual events, each and
every one. This takes a bit of practice, but it will bring you into the moment, and you will not be living in the future or hashing over the past.

If you will sit for just a moment, think of something that you each did today that when you were doing this you were thinking of something else. Relive doing the action, think of yourself in the righteous act of doing the action, pulling yourself right into the act. You are one with the act. You are at one with the Father by doing the act. It could be driving your car, putting the groceries away, preparing a meal. Allow the energy
to be one, the oneness with yourself, the oneness with the Father, and the oneness with the act you are doing. Pull that energy force into the very act itself that it magnetizes and energizes so that it penetrates into the day, into all the other acts that you do. You are getting more energized as the day is going. Know that by doing this you are doing a service because you are putting out this energy force into the environment. As you are sitting now, pull the feeling of oneness with the Father, the cosmic energy, into you. Feel the chairs you are sitting on. Feel the energy go through you into the furniture. Feel the
energy go out from you into each other. Keep this alive in all your actions. This will keep you in the moment, in the wisdom. Keep this alive within you so that you know that you are full of this electricity that is going out into all your actions, going out with all your thoughts. It is going out with your throat and heart chakras which are alive with the energy and the oneness that you feel, so that you are not bored with your everyday events. You are very much alive with all that you do.

You know that your lives have purpose and meaning no matter what you are doing. As you are putting the dishes away, sweeping the floor, your life at that moment has all the purpose and all the meaning that it has if you are out serving in any other way. That aliveness and electricity that moves you when you keep it alive with every action will give you the foothold for and the momentum for the future, for the past will all become one moment in that which you live each day, each moment. Everywhere you go, everything you do will be alive because you have put forth the effort each day with each thing that you have done.

If you are thinking of something, for instance, you are working on one thing, and you know you have several things lined up, instead of being fully into what you are doing at the moment you are thinking ahead to all the other things you have to do, pull the ... into what you are doing with the oneness, the electricity, and pull it through you into what you are doing. It could be very helpful. Then fold with the
day, with the movement of the day.

Every day has its own movement. Every day can be different and alive. The openings have been made in order for this to flow through you. Learn to pull it in and through you into whatever you need. The mind plays a great part in this motion. It takes discipline to program the mind so that it becomes second nature. At first you may feel stimulation. As you become accustomed to it, it will become natural. Your channel will become larger, more energy through the love of the Father.

This energy can help others to open up as it reaches them through your aliveness, like turning on a light. If you keep your switch on, you will allow the electricity to flow through you. It is not something which you must try to make happen. It is natural; you just allow it to happen. The energy flows through you, and as you energize it through your will and put it out into all things, your household gets full of it. It goes out into your furniture, your clothes, your food, your dishes, so that your whole house becomes energized. Everyone around you will feel this. It will help keep you healthy and feeling alive, at one with God and at peace with yourself.  

Tom: Do we all get the same initial charge of desire? How can we boost our desire?

Malvantra: Your Indwelling Fragment does, indeed, long to return to its origin. You as a personality may not fully invest the same longing at this time as your Indwelling Spirit has. But in time and with alignment to this Indwelling Spirit you too shall come to desire to return to your parent more fully and completely. To have a great desire to be about the Father's business, to do what you perceive to be the right choice in your
life, to make a difference, to be of service to others. This is the desire to be on the road towards the Father. Desire is also something which you can foster in others by your example of your orientation, by exemplifying you are on this path. You are aware you are on this path; you are in pursuit of the goal of perfection. You demonstrate these qualities to those around you who then may gaze upon your attitude and your actions and desire if nothing else to be like you. You, in turn, desire to be more perfect. Therefore you lead them in desiring to be more perfect.

Count yourself fortunate that you recognize this desire and can use it actively to chart your course. Count yourself fortunate also if you can, by example, emanate this quality to any individual around you so that they may be so affected as well. Desire is the propellant that motivates you to act, whether it is a desire to become one with your Adjuster or a more long-range desire to become one with the Father.

Still it is the same desire, the same striving for perfection, desiring to be more in line with the divine way. I would point out that every individual has some degree of desire. It may, during any one life, be misplaced. The desire for self-gratification is an obvious example. However, there is desire in each individual. It may be misguided and misdirected so as to propel them in a direction not of the Father's will, but it is resident within them this desire to do something. Your opportunity involves transferring this desire to more worthy causes.

Jonathan: One of our favorite phrases is that love is the desire to do good to others. If we stop at "love is the desire" and reflect on Jesus' teaching of loving one another, then love is a good way to kindle desire in ourselves.

Malvantra: Love is, indeed, an excellent indicator and destiny, ever pulling your forward. If in any case you are doubtful as to your desires and intent, reflect on them with the light of love and see how they fall into place. Love is an excellent tool to gently redirect desires that may be at a tangent and should be used repeatedly as a corrective measure in your ascension career to reestablish your desires in line with your highest possible ideals.

Tom: In the Urantia Book it says you can't love a person by sheer force of will. You have to take the time to know them. Also it says teachers can reshape the environment, remove obstacles, but in the final analysis  students' interest, drive, and enthusiasm propels them forward. That all falls under desire. Are we all given an equal charge of desire when we come into this world? Then does the environment either smother or foster us to getting a greater charge of desire?

Malvantra: Desire is as other characteristics are to you. By that I mean that it is available to you as are several other aspects available to you. It is in your development of these characteristics and traits that they become stronger, more intense, and more effective. Think of it as your choosing to develop your trait of desire as a useful propellant, is the same as your desire to utilize faith, which is also available to you upon your taking and developing. It is merely up to you which of these you access and to what degree you access it. It is true that inherently you have at your disposal a myriad of qualities of which this is but one.

Jonathan: In light of desire and the conditions of society, consider the mota that "difficulties may challenge mediocrity and defeat the fearful, but they only stimulate the true children of the Most Highs." We have desire that the world fosters or hinders. It falls to us to be fearful, mediocre, or stimulated true children.  

Malvantra: True, and it is up to you individually how much you want to stimulate these desires. One individual may be intimidated by difficulties. Another given the exact same difficulties might be charged with enthusiasm. The difficulties remain the same; it is in your approach and your attitude that the difference is made.
